Notebooks, Journals, Planners - oh mi...

I ran into an old friend the other day, she thought it was me but wasn't sure.  It's been about 9  + years since we last seen each other in New York...my working days.  Anywho, she said she knew it was me when she seen my notebook.  Apparently, I always had a notebook with me wherever I went (which is totally true).

Here are a couple of planners I have sported in the past....

Here is my current little buddy that I am never without.  Mind you this is an old photo of my planner, ribbons, skulls, keys, arrows, have slowly been added.  It's like my mini scrapbook that I add to daily but it keeps me completely organized & very busy .  I love technology & all my gadgets but I will always be a sharpie & paper kinda girl.

oh wow...This is a perfect example as to why I need an assistant...while looking through my photos on my computer, I came across these of my doodle journal I made last year.   To make a long story short,  my sister & I went to a thrift store & I scored this game called "therapy" for 50 cents.    I immediately thought "JOURNAL!"  Since doodling is therapy for me it was faith....
I used my knives, bind it all, parchment paper & within 10 mins...I got my doodle journal!

I added a few tabbies for random thoughts, lettering, seasonal & colors.  Hmmmm should I take a photo of what it looks like now???? LOL...let's just say that it has been well used! Maybe another time...I have to get back to work

T-shirt fun....

My Valentine's day shirt ...
Yeah as you can tell, I don't really care for V-Day.
No offense, I just never fell for this Hallmark created holiday.  It just isn't my thing.
However, since I do have tweens, I sorta celebrate it for them...they know where I stand & know that I only do it to entertain them.  Honestly, I think they just like getting a box of chocolates, they could careless about the love albums I make for them...ugh....never appreciated LOL!
I loved the saying of my St. Paddy's day sign last year...so I made a Tee that I will be wearing (as well as a few others) on St. Paddy's day this year....It's on a saturday...how sweet is that!
I have made so many Tee's this past year & I can't believe I have only posted my Softball Mom one.  I seriously gotta get better at this blog thing.  I think it's time for an assistant...

Valentine tin pail & Valentine blocks

Love grows here valentine day watering can tin...
I slapped on some vinyl, added some paper piecing to sticks & some fake grass.  After typing that, I made it sound soo easy when in fact, I have had these tins for about 2 + years now.  Eh, better late then never...
My "LOVE XO" SOLD OUT block set.....I'm glad I saved one for  me...

 Happy Valentines & XO blocks...
Love is certainly the theme in my house right now.
I am extremely impressed since I don't decorate for Valentines day.
On to the next holiday...Shamrocks, Irish Potatoes & GOLD.....

No work, just all play....

Randomly picked something on my Pinterest boards to make for Breakfast.  This was quick and easy.  The girls made it as I supervised & cleaned up.  It consisted of eggs, ham & optional cheese & onions.  Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Spray muffin pan with non stick cooking spray, line with ham, crack in an egg, season with salt n pepper.  Into oven for 12 mins (I like my yolk running so next time I will do 11 & continue to take away a minute until I get the egg yolk right for my taste).  Remove from oven, sprinkle with shredded cheese & onion...Enjoy!
http://thesimpledelights.com/?p=246 this is the original recipe.
If this isn't a sign, I don't know what is.  My girls & I went to breakfast the other day at IHOP since their teachers are on strike, we are trying to fill our days with fun activities.    As we were leaving, I saw these store signs.  I parked the car & was ready to make plans... Travel agent right next to CANCUN!  We were outta here!  I was so close to booking a 4 night vacation cause the kids were going to be back in school on Friday.  Unfortunately, we didn't go cause of a rumor that school MIGHT be back in session on Tuesday due to a loop hole...UGH!!!!  Needless to say, kids are still home & my butt is not on a beach!!!  ERRRRGGGG!!!!!
On a brighter note, my neighbor & I joined a Zumba class.  I have NEVER done Zumba before & check out my heart monitor....559calories.  WOWZA!!!!  Can't wait to see how many calories I burn when I actually know what the heck I am doing.

Q & A

I received an email regarding a certain design. I am posting this cause I have received a few of these requests in the past & since it seems like it is a reacurring question...I will address it as a blog post....

I do not use "manufactured vinyl decals" for my designs.  I use my own design software.  If you really want a "pre-designed" decal, please check out this site....http://www.vinylreadydesigns.com/
They have some cool designs...I can download them & cut them for you.

Valentine conversation hearts

It's a bit early, but with the kids being home, what the heck...we started to decorate for Valentine's Day. They put a cluster of hearts on the storm door, drew some strings & you got balloons...
Then they randomly added hearts to the front windows.   My girls thought it was great to decorate but  what they didn't realize was, they were cleaning too (my windows sparkle now...)

My "Valentine's Day" yard stake is out front....Love is in the air!

Inside the house is just as "lovely"...pictures to follow.

Past chalkboard projects revisited

Remember these blocks I made for Thanksgiving....

They were a hit!  The kids loved them & my Dad loved his picture.
The other side of the name plate has a chalkboard & kept them quite busy before dinner was ready.

My vinyl chalkboard weekly planner:

one of my customers emailed me a picture of how she uses her "chalkboard planner"
a few more chalkboard projects are in the works, pictures to follow soon.

Check back end of week...I may have an announcement......

Happy 2012!

Happy 2012!
I have no resolutions this year, no more starting my year off with the anticipation of failure.
2012 will be a year of risks, trial & error with no dead lines, no time frames with ridged consequences.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season & your new year is just as promising...

I took this tray to a party we went to on New Years eve, it was a hit so I thought that I would share the recipe with you.  I originally got it off PINTEREST but I tweaked the recipe a bit.

1 bag of nestle semi sweet chocolate morsels
1 8oz brick of Philly cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup Butter (softened)
1 cup powdered sugar
5 tablespoon brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In large bowl, cream together cream cheese & butter.  In other bowl mix remain ingredients.  Combine the two once well blended,  add bag of chocolate chips & fold in.
Refrigerate for 2 hours.
I served with Nilla wafers, graham crackers & ginger snaps.
